Norwegian local governments to replace Windows Mobile

Uncategorized, Windows 10 Mobile

Many Norwegian municipalities is to replace Windows Mobile with something else. Most likely “something else” is Android.
Oslo municipality has more than 2000 Windows Mobile phones which will be replaced.
According to Digi (http://www.digi.no/artikler/norske-kommuner-er-avhengig-av-windows-telefoner-na-vil-de-ha-android-i-stedet/367670) there are at least two reasons for the change:
1) It’s getting harder to get affordable Windows Mobile units
2) No one are convinced by the promise from Microsoft saying three-four mobile manufacturers are to deliver Windows Mobiles this year.

The company Tieto who delivers the software used by the Windows Mobile have been asked to develop an Android version.
